Satchel One overview
Satchel One is our homework tracking system. Parents are able to access it by App or any internet-enabled device.
You should have received a 12 digit 'Parent Code' by email for each of your children at the Academy (possibly in the email that directed you here), which you will need to set up your account. This allows you to link your account to your children. If you have not received this, please email helpdesk@hertswoodacademy.org.
Setting up your account with the SatchelOne App
Download the iOS (Apple) app or the Android app
Open it and search for ‘Hertswood Academy’
Click the ‘Log in with PIN or Parent Code’
Copy and paste the 12-character Parent Code you received by email and click Submit
Confirm who you are and accept the terms
You will be asked to enter your name, email, and create a password
You will receive an email with a link to tap to complete your verification
If you do not receive this, please check your spam folder
That’s it! You can return to the app and log in
Alternatively, setting up your account with the SatchelOne Website
Head to the login page by clicking here (hertswoodacademy.satchelone.com/school/home)
Click the ‘Parent’ heading, and select ‘I don’t have an account yet’
Enter your email address, copy and paste the 12-character Parent Code you received by email, and click Submit
Tick ‘I’m not a robot’ and click ‘Sign up’
Confirm who you are and accept the terms
You will be asked to enter your name, email, and create a password
You will receive an email with a link to click to complete your verification
If you do not receive this, please check your spam folder
That’s it! You can return to the website and log in
Adding another child to your account (if you have multiple children in Years 7-11 at Hertswood)
Each Parent Code links your SatchelOne account to a single child
From the app, tap the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner, or from the website, go to Select Student > Account Settings, and find ‘Link another student’ on the right hand side
Copy and paste the Parent Code for the additional child you received by email
Once done, you will be able to swap between students by clicking the blue swap icon in the app, or 'Select Student' on the website

Sixth Form homework is set and tracked through Google Classroom.
Research suggests that completion of homework can improve students' progress by up to 5 months as it encourages independence and revisiting concepts. Hertswood would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of your children at home in encouraging them to complete homework tasks on time and to a good standard.
